Woman tried to smuggle drugs and tobacco into jail – Edge

Sheriff Clee Atkinson announces charges made in reference to an inmate attempting to smuggle contraband into the detention center. 

                On 6/4/2018, Tiffany Michelle Cole of Whitakers, NC was sentenced to prison for 24 months for Larceny, Forgery and Probation Violations.  While being processed into the Detention Center, Officers located contraband hidden on Cole’s person.  These items were concealed in such a way as to attempt to conceal them from a search by Detention Officers and take them with her into the cell. These items included tobacco products, Zolpidem Pills and other various prescription pills.

                Charges:

                                Tiffany Michelle Cole of Whitakers, NC. 40 years of age.

                                Felony Possession of Controlled Substance by an inmate

                                Possession of Tobacco by inmate

                                Bond: $50,000

 

                Sheriff Atkinson commends the Detention Officers for their diligence in trying to make the detention center safer for the officers and inmates.  There is zero tolerance for contraband that is attempted to be smuggled into the detention center.  Violators will by charged to the fullest extent of the law.
