Two men charged with drugs and carrying a firearm by a felon

On January 27, 2018 at approximately 11:15pm Roanoke Rapids Police Department’s Master Officer J. Hardy was on routine patrol in the area of Vine Street when he noticed a lot of vehicles on Taft Street.  When Master Officer Hardy drove down Taft Street people began to hide and try to leave the area.  During the investigation of the activity at the dead end of Taft Street Officers found narcotics and guns.

 

Alvin Norwood Jr. 26 of Roanoke Rapids was arrested and charged by Officer A. Green with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of schedule II (cocaine), possession with intent to sell/deliver schedule II (cocaine), and attempting to destroy evidence. Mr. Norwood was given a $60,000 bond and a March 3, 2018 court date.

Audwin Lamonte Parker Jr. 28 of Roanoke Rapids was arrested and charged by Master Officer J. Hardy with possession of schedule II (cocaine), possession with intent to sell/deliver schedule II (cocaine), possession of schedule VI (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Mr. Parker was given a $10,000 bond and a February 7, 2018 court date.
