Woman arrested for Exploiting the Elderly

CHRISTINE HOPE EZZELL 41, was arrested for Exploit Disabled/Elderly. Her bond was set at $165,000 and she is in Nash County Jail.

This is not the first time EZZELL has been charged and arrested for Exploiting the Elderly. She defrauded an individual of more than $7,400 between May 23, 2013, and Oct. 10, 2013 and was charged with four counts of obtaining property by false pretense, and one count each of exploitation of an elder adult and unlawfully acting as a code enforcement official. She was arrested on Oct. 25 2013.

In 2012 she was in Roanoke Rapids soliciting door to door for money for the needy she was charged then with 28 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, five counts of attempted obtaining property by false pretenses and two counts of felony conspiracy.

Her record dates back to 1998 and includes Larceny and Fraud. She has spent more than 5 years in Prison. She was also convicted of forgery of prescriptions.

She was also recently on the top ten wanted list for the tri county area.
